Ok abit dramatic heading but Restaurant’s, Schools, Airports, Shopping centres all closed. Which on the plus side also lead to less pollution, Italy’s canals are running clear water and the list goes on. Covid-19 made me realise we all live a very fast paced life we all needed to stop and slow down.
My pop passed away two weeks before the lock down rules came into play which was hard not to see family at this time but also gave me time to grieve.
We spent eight weeks in self isolation some days I felt like I accomplished so much and other days I just wanted to stay in my pjs all day and not leave the lounge room. During isolation I started Hello Fresh – something I’ve wanted to try for a very long time but kept putting if off and didn’t have time to really look into it, so glad we did because we are 3 weeks in and loving it! Having fresh food delivered to your door was enough for me to sign up and give it a go.
Sounds strange but the simple things like going for walks and riding our bikes, it’s been nice to walk around our neighbourhood and feed the ducks at the lake. Honestly something we never did much before and we enjoy it so much now Ella is a lot more confident on her bike and Remi is just starting to learn how to ride her scooter.
And like every one the first few weeks was spent cleaning - Cleaning out the garage, fridge’s, wardrobes, pantry, laundry, office all these things I’ve needed to do for so long but life gets busy and you never have time. I felt so accomplished when I cleaned out these areas in our home. For more information on how I cleaned out my home and photos you can jump on my Instagram page and find more in my highlights saved under “iso life” “tips and tricks”
Eight long weeks – No School, library classes, play group, gymnastics, dancing all came to a complete stop. It was scary. Im sure we all felt scared and worried at some point and even though restrictions are easing I still don’t feel 100% confident or safe enough to rush back to our busy lives. During our time at home my focus was obviously the kids keeping them entertained and busy I also was still working from home. We did things we have never done before like make play doh, kids’ yoga, tie dyed our own shirts, made rock road for the first time ever. The girls were busy baking doing craft and all those activities, what I enjoyed the most was watch the girls just play with their toys I revamped their toy room which I hadn’t done in a few months. Loved enjoying our home and back yard we are always rushing around to all these schedule’s we never get to spend that time to just enjoy what we have.
Naturally my best friend was Netflix I think Tiger King gave us a laugh we all needed and memes and songs we will never get out of our heads. Stan, Disney+, Foxtel you name a movie we probably watched it.
And lastly to wrap up eight weeks of isolation life. Self-care, yep we all talk about it and never do anything about it I never do anything for myself. For the first time in years I have finally purchased a skin care range to start using everyday which is my own little routine for myself I bought GO-TO I’ve been using this brand for a few weeks now and love it i will talk more about these products in the coming weeks. I also purchased some other new make-up and facial razor from MCoBeauty – obsessed not sure why I have never tried the facial razor before. And face masks! I’ve done a few the past couple of weeks. I’m enjoying the 5mins a day I spend on myself for myself and in return if we feel good about ourselves, we will be better people and parents. I was nervous to visit the hair dresser im not going to lie but About Face in Camden had set up private suites so I felt comfortable and safe to have my hair cut and coloured for the first time in over 6 months which felt amazing to leave the house and be pampered.
And a blog! yep this right here. I’ve wanted to do for ages I think it’s another platform to connect and showcase brands and collaborations im excited to grow and keep doing what im passionate about.
